That starts the process.

• If you want to apply for a specific animal on the website, please list their names on your questionnaire. If you cannot select an animal please still submit your questionnaire and write in the notes what type of animal you are looking for! Please note that applying is the first step in our process and does not guarantee the adoption of a particular dog or cat. Please email us at Webadmin@chasintailrescue.com if you have any questions!

• You will be contacted via email by a Chasin Tails member, Adoption Coordinator or Screener within 24-48 hours of submitting your questionnaire. They will then schedule an initial phone screening to further discuss your needs, preferences and lifestyle as you look for a new family member.

• Your Chasin Tails representative will also conduct any required checks, including a vet check to ensure your pets are up to date on medical needs, a landlord check if needed and you rent, and will set up a home visit - during which a knowledgeable volunteer will schedule and meet with all residents of your home to identify any risks or items to monitor when your new pet arrives and ensure that everyone is ready to welcome them home!

• Following steps 1-3, you will either be approved to adopt the dog or cat you are interested in or Pre-Approved if you don’t see the particular type of animal you are interested in.
